Listening to others and being compassionate can take a toll on you if you don't replenish and rejuvenate yourself . Many counselors get exhausted, feel their client's pain so deeply and are overwhelmed by the suffering in the world. How can we develop wisdom, compassion and methods to continue to work with others and help someone see alternatives?

YOGA, Breathing and Meditation BENEFITS

There's news stories everyday about people noticing that their heart rate is lower, their concentration is better and their moods are more even with yoga and meditation. Many athletic programs now incorporate yoga into their training. We will go into ways to help with insomnia, low energy, feelings of hopelessness and panic feelings in the newsletter as well as workshops and articles.

ABOUT ME: I'm a licensed social worker as well as a certified yoga teacher and blend my understanding of both of these areas my client sessions, ce classes and yoga lessons. I am available for individual consults as well. I presented a yoga and meditation workshop at the NASW conference in 2001 in Florida. I also have offered a 3 credit ce class for therapists an now have expanded it to 6 ce credits to get a whole day workshop covering both self-care and clinical application of these tools.
